Dementia adviser still here for residents of Moray

PEOPLE suffering from dementia and their carers in Moray can still get expert advice from a local adviser.

Wendy Menzies is a dementia adviser for Alzheimer Scotland and covers the Moray area.

With this week being dementia awareness week, Wendy is keen to remind those with dementia and their carers that she is still about to help.

She said: "I’m still here, working from home to help support people living with dementia and their carers.

"Many people are facing difficult times and we just want to get the message out there that we are still here if people need help."

Across Scotland, 90,000 people are living with dementia. Alzheimer Scotland is working hard to ensure nobody faces dementia alone.

Staff have been doing all they can to make sure local services remain in place to help minimise the impact of the coronavirus lockdown.

Alzheimer Scotland has boosted their 24/7 helpline capacity, is delivering online support groups, digital reminiscence therapy sessions and virtual adviser ‘visits’.
