In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1225 positive cases which equates to 4.7 per cent of those tested overall.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 383 cases, Lanarkshire 235, Lothian 168, Ayrshire 119 with NHS Grampian recording 74 cases.

A total of 51 deaths were also recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 as a contributing factor in the last 24 hours.

Speaking at First Ministers questions today, MSP Maureen Watt said: "This is another outbreak in a food plant, do we now have a better understanding of how these happens?."

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon replied: "There has been a lot of work done on how this comes about and a lot of work has been done to minimise risk of it seeping into the wider community.

"We have seen a rise in cases in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire but much of that can be attributed to cases like this rather than wider community transmission which is why we have not felt it necessary to mover Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire up a level."

NHS Grampian have confirmed the number of cases now stands at 86 in total (a rise of eight from yesterday).

A spokesperson said: "They are being supported to self-isolate.

"We continue to work very closely with Kepak McIntosh Donald and are extremely grateful to them for their cooperation throughout."
