Council's Westhill testing site to operate for extended hours

In the latest update on Covid-19 in the Westhill area, Aberdeenshire Council has said that the centre will now be open from 1pm to 6pm on Wednesday to hopefully accommodate as many people as possible.

A spokesman for Aberdeenshire Council said: "We can confirm that our mobile testing centre located at Westhill Library is to remain on site.

"There has been strong demand for the lateral flow tests and we would like to thank everyone for taking the time to come down and be tested.

"Remember, our testing centre is only for those without Covid symptoms.

"There is no need to book and it will enable residents to better protect their family, colleagues and the wider community by ensuring they are not spreading the virus to others without realising it.

"We would again encourage all residents and those working within the Westhill area to stick to the protection levels and FACTS guidance at all times."
