A Banff councillor has joined Reform UK.
John Cox, who represents the Banff and District ward on Aberdeenshire Council, has become a member of the party which is led by Nigel Farage.
He will continue sitting as an independent on the local authority.
In October, councillors Mark Findlater and Laurie Carnie became the first in Scotland to join Reform UK.
Councillor Cox was formerly part of the SNP until 2017.
Reform UK has seen its support grow in Scotland with the party planning to have candidates in all the constituencies at the next Scottish Parliament election in 2026.
