Council announces by-election for Ellon ward

Aberdeenshire Council has posted a notice of election, confirming that a by-election will take place in October for the vacant Ellon and District seat.

The seat became vacant after the resignation of Richard Thomson, which followed his election as MP for the Gordon constituency last year.

The nominations deadline to stand in this election is 4pm on Monday, September 14.

Polls will open for the vacant seat on October 15.
