Corskie tops online pedigree sale of bulls at 8800gns

Trade reached 8800gns for a Simmental from the Green family from Fochabers Corskie herd at Aberdeen and Northern Marts’ online sale of pedigree multi-breed bulls staged at Thainstone on Wednesday.

The Thainstone Online event, held in conjunction with Sell My Livestock, attracted a large number of online bidders from across the country, and saw 22 bulls cash in to average £4495.91.

Leading the way at 8800gns was Corskie Kirby, a 17-month-old bull by Dirnanean Bradley, bred out of the Corksie Delboy-sired cow, Corskie Fergie.

He sold to Dalchirla Farms, Muthill, Crieff.

Two other Simmentals produced the next two top prices, with Backmuir King Kong from Reece and Andrew Simmers, Backmuir, Keith, realising 7500gns to J and JS Wilken, Raefin, Keith.

Sired by Corrick Hayden, this 22-month-old bull is bred out of Starline Eva 25.

Gary Christie, Birchfield, Midtown of Glass, Huntly, sold his 17-month-old bull Rockytop Krakatoa for 6700gns to I Murray, Doonby, Glassel, Banchory.

He is a son of Kilbride Farm Fearless, out of Tilbrrok Champagne.

The Limousin section topped at 6000gns for Wedderburn Princeton from Jim and Sandy Hunter, Wedderburn, Huntly.

Selling to Miller Farms, North Lurg, Midmar, he is a 22-month-old son of Swarland Likelylad, out of Wedderburn Imogen.

Graeme Morrison, Inchbruich, Cornhill, received 4800gns for the Limousin bull Deveronvale Pascal, when sold to D and P Petrie, West Maldron, Torphins, Banchory.

This 21-month-old bull is by Ampertaine Gigolo.

Molly Stuart from Lettoch, Glenlivet, sold her Hereford bull for 4100gns to CH and CM Reid, Glencorrie, Laggan House, Dufftown.

This was Glenlivet Haggis, an April, 2019-born son of Solpoll 1 Ferrari.

Two Limousins sold at 4000gns including Ronick PJ from the Dick family, Mains of Throsk, Stirling, which sold to GA Hay, Mains of Kildrummy, Alford.

The other at this money, when sold to Brian McIntosh, Mains of Tarryblake, Rothiemay, was Muldearie Pablo, from Sandy and Gary Morrison, Bush of Muldearie, Keith.

Salers bulls topped at 3800gns for Rigel Olaf from Rigel Pedigree, Rednock Estate, Yarmouth, when sold to I and I Brown, Millbrae, Sanday, Orkney, while Aberdeen-Angus bulls sold to 3600gns for Thrunton Romeo, from JHC Campbell, Thrunton, Alnwick, when purchased by JD Penman, Mill of Saphock, Oldmeldrum.

The same buyers paid 3600gns for the top price Charolais named Strathys Premium, from K and J Mallarkey, Airdlin Mains, Ythanbank, Ellon.

Meanwhile, a Blonde d’Aquitaine from Alison Watt, Birkenburn, Keith, made 3800gns to B and CC Taylor, Annamuick Farm, Stonehaven.
