Coronavirus update: Weekend case numbers show a fall

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 5692 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 13.2 per cent of those tested overall

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1520 cases and NHS Lothian 922 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 440 cases while NHS Highland recorded 276 cases.

In the seven days to September 4, Aberdeenshire saw 1392 cases (533.8 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 1210 (528.2 per 100,000) and Moray 217 (226.7 per 100,000).

Oldmeldrum and Westhill topped 60 cases each within that period, followed closely by Turriff, Kintore, Peterhead, Insch and Inverurie.

16 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 4,128,998 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,742,826 people have received their second dose.
