Coronavirus update: Tentative signs of case numbers easing in the north-east

Scotland reported 956 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which equates to 14.9 per cent of newly tested individuals.

The top four health boards by case numbers remained the same with NHS Greater Glasgow reporting 296, Lanarkshire 225. Lothian 158 and Ayrshire 72.

NHS Grampian recorded 39 cases and NHS Highland 11.

For the seven days covering October 3 to October 9, Aberdeenshire as a whole has seen 49 positive cases - equivalent to 18.8 cases per 100,000 people while Aberdeen City recorded 205 - equivalent to 89.6 per 100,000 population.
