Coronavirus update: Small rise in NHS Grampian cases and decrease nationally

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 2556 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 8.9 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 573 cases and NHS Lothian 380 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 274 cases while NHS Highland recorded 79 cases.

In the seven days to September 23, Aberdeenshire saw 1029 cases (394.6 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 789 (344.5 per 100,000) and Moray 207 (216.3 per 100,000).

Two new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, noting that register offices are generally closed at weekends.

Areas which are showing high number of cases in Aberdeenshire include Blackburn; Durno-Chapel of Garioch; Aberchirder and Whitehills; Macduff and Inverurie South.

To date in Scotland more than 4,176,832 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,827,110 people have received their second dose.
