In the last 24 hours Scotland recorded 714 new cases of Covid-19 which equated to 11.5 per cent of tested individuals.

There were no new deaths in the same time period and 11 people are now in intensive care with a further 99 in hospital with confirmed cases.

Once again NHS Greater Glasgow recorded the highest number of cases with 290 positive results followed by NHS Lothian with 113 and NHS Lanarkshire with 91.

For the first time NHS Tayside has seen a large spike with 76 cases while NHS Fife saw 46, NHS Grampian 25, NHS Ayrshire 19 and NHS Highland 13.

Saturday's total is the highest number of cases confirmed in a day since the start of the outbreak and comes as a fourth walk through centre was opened near student campus centres, this time in Edinburgh adding to ones already in place in St Andrew's, Glasgow and Aberdeen.
