Coronavirus update: Over 6000 new cases recorded in Scotland

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 6116 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to nine per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1439 cases and NHS Lothian 930 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 586 cases while NHS Highland recorded 271 cases.

In the seven days to September 15, Aberdeenshire saw 1407 cases (539.5 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 1052 (459.3 per 100,000) and Moray 222 (232.0 per 100,000)..

27 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 4,151,735 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,802,183 people have received their second dose.
