Coronavirus update: North-east sees small decrease in cases

Scotland saw 237 (278) positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which equated to 1.2 (1.3) per cent of those tested.

There was one death reported in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 88 (85) cases and Lanarkshire 39 (45).

NHS Grampian saw 18 cases (23) while NHS Highland saw 12 (nine).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 165 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 14,707.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between April 6 and April 12 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 44 cases which equated to 0.8 per cent of all tests carried out and a positive test rate of 16.8 per 100,000 population.

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 72 cases equating to 1.3 per cent of all tests and a positive test rate of 31.5 per 100,000.

In the daily area figures Stonehaven South and North, Newtonhill and Cruden were showing the highest case numbers in Aberdeenshire.
