Coronavirus update: North-east cases see increases in some areas

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 2056 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 10.3 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 445 cases and NHS Lothian 287 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 220 cases while NHS Highland recorded 56 cases.

In the seven days to September 28, Aberdeenshire saw 860 cases (329.8 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 603 (263.2 per 100,000) and Moray 285 (297.8 per 100,000).

In Aberdeenshire the steady fall of cases has continued, with the highest numbers in Banff, Inverurie South and Macduff areas, while the generally static level for NHS Grampian has remained due to small rises in Moray in particular around Elgin and Lossiemouth.
