Coronavirus update: North-east cases continue to rise

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 3495 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 7.5 per cent of those tested overall.

A large number of these cases are due to a backlog in reporting which was noted yesterday.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 616 cases and NHS Lothian 477 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 359 cases while NHS Highland recorded 235 cases.

In the seven days to October 31, Aberdeenshire saw 1169 cases (448.3 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 781 (341.0 per 100,000) and Moray 300 (313.4 per 100,000).

20 new deaths recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 4,321,770 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,911,823 people have received their second dose.
