Coronavirus update: NHS Grampian sees and overnight almost doubling of cases

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 3055 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 6.9 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 584 cases and NHS Lothian 422 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 412 cases (220 yesterday) while NHS Highland recorded 108 cases (56 yesterday).

In the seven days to September 28, Aberdeenshire saw 869 cases (333.2 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 615 (268.5 per 100,000) and Moray 294 (307.2 per 100,000).

34 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

In Aberdeenshire the steady fall of cases has levelled off with current rates of infection remaining static for the most part.
