Coronavirus update: NHS Grampian case numbers remain high

Scotland saw 1009 new cases of Covid-19 reported in the last 24 hours equating to14.1 per cent of newly tested individuals

There were six new reported deaths of people who have tested positive and 34 people were in intensive care yesterday.

NHS Greater Glasgow saw the highest numbers with 357 cases, NHS Lanarkshire 204 and NHS Lothian 160.

In the north-east, NHS Grampian recorded 52 cases while NHS Highland saw 12.

Locally, between October 2 and October 8, the Fyvie/Rothienorman area has seen six cases recorded, while there have been five in the Ythanside area around Ellon with a total of 50 positive cases in Aberdeenshire as a whole in that seven day period spread across the whole of Aberdeenshire.

By comparison, Aberdeen City has seen 191 cases in the same time period with the largest number recorded in the city's Froghall and Powis area.
