In the last 24 hours 344 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Scotland which equated to 9.1 per cent of newly tested individuals.

This is less than half of the 714 in the previous 24 hours and a lower percentage of positive cases from tests which stood at 11.5 per cent respectively.

While numbers of cases in some areas such as NHS Greater Glasgow which recorded 172 case, NHS Lanarkshire which saw 58 and NHS Lothian which saw 40 cases remain consistent with previous days, in other areas there has been a more variable return.

NHS Grampian recorded 12 cases and NHS Highland eight positive tests, both declines from the upward trend seen of late.

The biggest variance is in NHS Tayside where just six positive cases were noted in the last 24 hours, a remarkable decline from the previous day's 76 positive results and the preceding 24 hour period which saw 26 cases .

Positive tests in NHS Tayside have been increasing at an average of around eight to ten per day over the previous week.
