Coronavirus update: Large rise noted in Grampian cases

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 1104 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 4.1 per cent of those tested overall.

NHS Greater Glasgow saw 318 cases, NHS Tayside 118 and NHS Lothian 241.

NHS Grampian saw 58 new cases while NHS Highland recorded 9 new cases.

In the seven days to June 8 there were 64 new cases in Aberdeenshire (24.5 per 100,000), 107 in Aberdeen City (46.8 per 100,000) and 14 in Moray (14.6 per 100,000).

No new deaths were recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 3,459.063 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 2,375,246 people have received their second dose.

NHS Grampian this afternoon issued a warning for the north-east following the case rise statistics with focus being put on areas to the west and south-west of Aberdeen as well as the city itself.
