Coronavirus update: Increase in cases in NHS Grampian area

Scotland saw 210 (204) positive cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours which equated to 1.2 (1.4) per cent of those tested.

There were two deaths reported in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 54 (77) cases and Lanarkshire 49 (45).

NHS Grampian saw 23 cases (13) while NHS Highland saw five (six).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 142 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 14,755.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between April 8 and April 14 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 36 cases which equated to 0.7 per cent of all tests carried out and a positive test rate of 13.8 per 100,000 population.

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 70 cases equating to 1.4 per cent of all tests and a positive test rate of 30.6 per 100,000.

In the daily area figures Stonehaven South and North, Westhill North and South and Banchory-Devenick and Findon were showing the highest case numbers in Aberdeenshire.
