Coronavirus update: Highest case numbers now centre on Peterhead

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 4298 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 10.9 per cent of those tested overall

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1256 cases and NHS Lothian 506 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 357 cases while NHS Highland recorded 188 cases.

In the seven days to September 8, Aberdeenshire saw 1662 cases (637.3 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 1306 (570.2 per 100,000) and Moray 236 (246.4 per 100,000).

Peterhead's three population map areas between them have now seen over 160 cases in a week, with most other areas on a par, reporting between 30 to 50 cases.

10 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

To date in Scotland more than 4,137,710 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,769,320 people have received their second dose.
