Coronavirus update: Further rise in NHS Grampian cases

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 6711 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 12.1 per cent of those tested overall

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 2107 cases and NHS Lanarkshire 1138 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 416 cases while NHS Highland recorded 354 cases.

In the seven days to August 31 there were 1159 new cases in Aberdeenshire (444.0 per 100,000) 953 in Aberdeen City (416.0 per 100,000) and in Moray 169 (176.6 per 100,000).

10 new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Aboyne, Turriff and Oldmeldrum have now been joined by Inverbervie in recording nearly 50 cases in a seven day period.

To date in Scotland more than 4,114,552 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,709,328 people have received their second dose.
