In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 3833 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 9.1 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 1006 cases and NHS Lothian 484 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 335 cases while NHS Highland recorded 153 cases.

Public Health Scotland outlined there may be variability in the number of new cases and tests reported in the latest 24-hour period due to a backlog of data being processed following technical issues affecting reporting on Thursday, September 16.

In the seven days to September 16, Aberdeenshire saw 1351 cases (518.1 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 990 (432.2 per 100,000) and Moray 215 (224.6 per 100,000).

Public Health Scotland highlighted the data for the most recent days are likely to be incomplete, therefore a three-day lag has been applied.

Two new deaths have been recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

Areas which are showing high number of cases include Blackburn; Peterhead; Garlogie and Elrick and Portsoy, Fordyce and Cornhill.

To date in Scotland more than 4,155,048 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,806,980 people have received their second dose.
