Coronavirus update: Decrease in cases locally and nationally

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 2363 positive cases of coronavirus which equates to 8.7 per cent of those tested overall.

Amongst these newly reported cases NHS Greater Glasgow recorded 470 cases and NHS Lothian 406 cases.

NHS Grampian saw 239 cases (262 yesterday) while NHS Highland recorded 85 cases (105 yesterday).

In the seven days to October 7, Aberdeenshire saw 1003 cases (384.6 per 100,000), Aberdeen City 614 (268.1 per 100,000) and Moray 361 (377.2 per 100,000).

There was one new death recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, noting that register offices are generally closed at weekends

To date in Scotland more than 4,253,765 people have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination and over 3,861,899 people have received their second dose.
