Coronavirus update: Cases continue to decline in Aberdeenshire and national total sees a daily rise

Scotland saw 885 positive cases in the last 24 hours an increase from the previous day's total of (685).

This equated to 4.4 per cent of those tested (3.8 the previous day).

A total of 31 new deaths were noted in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw 267 cases (158), Lanarkshire 166 (100) and Lothian 163 (120).

NHS Grampian saw 28 cases (26) while NHS Highland saw 17 (37).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 252 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 13,231.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between February 10 and February 16 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 97 cases (up from 95 the previous day) which equated to 2.5 per cent of all tests carried out (up from 2.4 per cent) and a positive test rate of 37.1 per 100,000 population of (up from 36.4).

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 74 cases (equal) equating to 2.0 per cent of all tests (equal) and positive test rate of 32.4 per 100,000 (equal).

In the daily area figures case numbers in all areas fell below 10 cases in total for the last seven days even for areas where small flare ups had been seen such as Ellon with the only notable area in the city in Summerhill.
