Coronavirus update: Cases continue to creep up in Grampian

In Scotland in the last 24 hours there have been a total of 278 positive cases which equates to 1.3 per cent of those tested overall.

NHS Greater Glasgow saw 85 cases, Lanarkshire 45 cases and Fife reported 42 new cases.

NHS Grampian reported 23 new cases and NHS Highland recorded a further nine cases.

The remaining cases were spread across Scotland.

In the seven days to April 11 there were 45 new cases in Aberdeenshire (17.2 per 100,000), 76 in Aberdeen City (33.2 per 100,000) and 44 in Moray (45.9 per 100,000).

Many of Aberdeenshire's newly recorded cases are concentrated in Stonehaven, Westhill, Peterhead and Cruden neighbourhoods.

Sadly three deaths were recorded in Scotland with Covid-19 confirmed in the last 24 hours.

To date almost 2,695,000 people (59.3 percent of Scotland's over 16 population) have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and over 634,000 people (14 percent of Scotland's over 16 population) have received their second dose.
