Coronavirus update: Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City remain in a strong position

Scotland saw 386 positive cases in the last 24 hours a decrease from the previous day's total of (572) on the day which marked precisely one year since the first case was noted in Scotland.

This equated to 4.5 per cent of those tested (3.8 the previous day).

No new deaths were noted in the last 24 hours with Covid as a contributing factor due to registrars being closed.

The NHS Greater Glasgow area saw cases 123 (171), Lanarkshire 51 (124) and Lothian 70 (95).

NHS Grampian saw 13 cases (22) while NHS Highland saw 14 (10).

The NHS Grampian area recorded 167 cases in the last seven days taking the overall total to 13,476.

Public Health Scotland's most up to date figures cover the seven days between February 20 and February 26 and show Aberdeenshire recorded 66 cases (down from 74 the previous day) which equated to 1.4 per cent of all tests carried out (down from 1.6 per cent) and a positive test rate of 25.3 per 100,000 population of (down from 28.7).

For the same time period, Aberdeen City saw 66 cases (up from 58) equating to 1.4 per cent of all tests (up from 1.3) and positive test rate of 28.9 per 100,000 (up from 25.4).

In the daily area figures case numbers in all areas show suppression of the virus with the exception of Ellon West a small flare up has not seen any further increase over the weekend.
