Sheriff Sara Matheson was told that Mazulis met his relative on a bus journey from Buckie to Elgin but she did not want to engage with him because he was intoxicated.

Mazulis contacted her later that evening and the court heard he invited the pair to come to Elgin Bus Station, punch him and stab him with a knife he had in his possession.

He admitted possessing the knife.

His defence solicitor, David Patterson told Sheriff Matheson: "It was an oversight that he had it."

Mazulis was ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work as an alternative to a fine.
