The Banffshire community has rallied around a youth organisation to help it with a Christmas shoe box appeal.

2nd Macduff Rainbows group sent off 293 boxes to the Blythswood appeal recently, which sends them to people in need in foreign countries for the festive period.

Leader Elaine Chalmers said the support from the community had been fantastic.

She added: "We had an overwhelming response from local groups including Macduff Fire Service; Banff Coastguard; Macduff Brownies; Banff Rainbows, Brownies and Guides; Banff Care Home; as well as members of our local communities.

"We wish to express our sincerest thanks to all who donated."
