THE British detective genre will get a comedy makeover when Done to Death, By Jove! comes to New Deer.

The comic whodunnit stars Gavin Robertson and Nicholas Collett and tells a twisted tale of murder and foul play.

Volunteer promoter Sue Robertson said: "A cast of six bring a comic flurry of suspects and characters together to discover who done what, and why... except, four of the cast are stuck by the side of the road in the van, and only those two knights of the theatre – Sir Gavin of Robertson and Sir Nicholas of Collett – have managed to get to the venue. But the show must go on."

The performance, which takes place at the Public Hall on Friday, October 11, at 7.30pm, has been supported by North East Arts Touring Ltd, Creative Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council.

Sue added: "This will be a good evening's entertainment with plenty of laughs with these two talented actors who have both performed all over the world."

Tea, coffee, soft drinks and ice cream will be on sale and tickets are available from www.neatshows.org.uk, in Food for Thought and The Chemist and, subject to availability, on the door.
