There was double the jubilee fun to be had in Collieston on Thursday with an afternoon tea and lighting of the beacon.

The afternoon tea was an opportunity for the community to come together in the sunshine ahead of a busy weekend of celebrations across the north east.

Then in the evening Collieston joined with the nationwide lighting of the beacons event, the official launch of The Queen's jubilee celebrations.

Led by a local piper, who played the specially-written tune Diu Regnare, the beacon was lit at 9.45pm.
