North East Scotland College (NESCol) is offering advice and support to help learners secure their place on courses starting after the summer break.

The college – with its three main campuses in Aberdeen city centre, Altens and Fraserburgh – has a range of full-time opportunities on offer.

Applications for courses for the new session remain open and the NESCol team is on hand to guide prospective students through the process.

The chance to speak to subject specialists will also be available as part of the College’s Clearing Week, running from Monday, August 8.

Clearing Week, coinciding with exam results being released by the SQA on Tuesday, August 9, will provide an opportunity for those discovering their grades to finalise plans and secure a spot on courses starting in August.

Advisors will be available to answer general queries and talk prospective students through the application process throughout the week.

Academic staff will be able to answer course-specific queries during call-backs on Tuesday, August 9 and drop-in sessions at the City Campus and Fraserburgh Campus on Wednesday, August 10.

A dedicated phone hotline and LiveChat support will also be available to respond to general enquiries and an online application workshop will take place on Wednesday, August 10.

Information on NESCol courses and facilities, guidance on funding and travel and a range of other topics is available.

NESCol principal Neil Cowie said: “We’re looking forward to an exciting year ahead, with an engaging and vibrant college experience at the heart of those plans.

"It will be fantastic to welcome this year’s group of students for what promises to be a very rewarding session.

“For those who are awaiting exam results or yet to decide on their next steps, our teams are ready to help make it as straightforward as possible and to guide applicants through the process.

“Clearing Week is designed to match applicants to the places we have available across our campuses.

"One of NESCol’s greatest strengths is the variety of courses we offer at all levels and we have expert staff available to support every individual to make the right choice.”

For general advice on applications and studying at NESCol, the clearing hotline will run from 10am to 3.30pm from August 8-12 on 01224 612301. A LiveChat option is also available at www.nescol.ac.uk

An online application workshop will also be held on August 10 from 10am to 12pm and people can find out more from the Clearing webpage.

There will be an opportunity to meet with subject specialists and discuss course options on August 10 from 10am to 2pm at City Campus and Fraserburgh Campus.

Representatives from subjects delivered at Altens Campus will be available at City Campus on the day.
