Buckie’s Maynes Coaches wins at two awards ceremonies





A coach firm is celebrating after winning accolades at two awards ceremonies.

The company’s branch Maynes Holidays won Gold Best Company for UK Coach/Touring Holidays at the 2024 British Travel Awards.

Maynes Coaches said: “Our holidays team work so hard day in and day out ensuring that you have the best experience travelling with us - what an incredible achievement.

“The British Travel Awards are described as ‘the only truly independent awards in the travel industry’ as they are based entirely on public votes - a huge thank you to all of our amazing customers who have supported and voted for Team Mayne.”

Meanwhile, the routeone Awards honoured the UK’s top coach and bus operators, celebrating exceptional contributions in areas including sustainability, technology, and customer service.

Held for the first time at The Vox Birmingham, the awards drew a huge number of high-calibre entries and a record-breaking 900 attendees, underscoring the industry’s vitality.

These awards honour local businesses and individuals driving positive change in their communities through reliable, innovative and sustainable transport solutions.

They celebrate the dedication and excellence of operators from across the country – with finalists from the Moray Firth coast to Jersey.

Maynes Coaches won two awards - Outstanding Customer Experience and Best Use of Technology - Coach Operator.

For Outstanding Customer Experience the category recognises individuals, teams or businesses prioritising customer satisfaction, with proven improvements and measurable outcomes.

Out of six strong finalists, the judges highlighted Maynes Coaches, stating that their “approach is built upon doing what they have always done to the best of their ability and delivering the finest service to all of their customers.”

For Best Use of Technology – Coach Operator the award recognises coach operators who leverage technology to deliver significant operational and customer benefits.

The judges found Maynes Coaches to be exemplary in their integration of business systems. This has led to broad-reaching improvements across its operation.

The Judges commented that Maynes Coaches is “an established subscriber to the best practice textbook” that has “now started to write chapters of its own, and has the motivation to continue doing so.”

Maynes Coaches said of the award wins: “We are absolutely delighted to be bringing two routeone Awards home to Buckie with us.

“It is a true testament to the incredible work that Team Mayne does everyday.

The 2024 routeone Awards received record entries, underscoring the strength and diversity of the coach and bus sector.

To be considered, candidates were nominated by industry peers and invited to submit entries demonstrating how they met specific category criteria.

Each entry underwent careful scrutiny by a panel of respected industry judges to determine the best in the business.

The awards recognise excellence across a range of categories, each showcasing exceptional contributions to the industry.
