Charities throughout the UK are having a tough financial time during the pandemic but in Elgin this week Philippa Buckingham and Kit Pawson, on behalf of Barnardo's Scotland, gratefully received a cheque for £1500 from Izzie Macdonald.

The money had been raised in Inverness over the past two years by the Barnardo's 10 Club and Izzie, a loyal friend of Barnardo's Scotland for over 30 years, decided that this was a good time to present the cheque.

Philippa who is president of the Bennachie Barnardo's Helpers' Group who are based in Inverurie and District, was delighted to receive the money and said,"This will be greatly welcomed by Barnardo's Scotland as all the usual fund raising events have been cancelled since lockdown in March and our many vital projects in the Highlands and the north-east are in desperate need of cash. "We are most appreciative of the efforts of our supporers in Inverness."
