Charities welcome support from Gig4Garioch performers

Organisers of a north-east online music fundraiser have handed over donations to four local charities.

musicians from the around the Garioch area and beyond came together in May for a special gig at an event organised by INverurie Events.

A host of well-known performers including Steve Innes, Scott Mellis, Dan Greavy, Murray Cowie and Nick Innes were joined by Alisdair Sneddon, Waldo, Millie Chapman, Alan Gardner and Michael Loszak at the Gig 4 Garioch in May.

With lockdown restrictions starting to be lifted, recipients For the Love of Garioch, Home Start Garioch Aberdeenshire North Foodbank and the Garioch Community Kitchen were each able to collect a cheque for £450.

A spokeswoman for the The Garioch Community Kitchen said: "Thank you to everyone who supported the Gig 4 Garioch, we were delighted to receive a cheque for £450 which will ho towards providing food parcels to families In the Garioch Area."
