Police in Aberdeenshire have recovered etizolam, amphetamine, and cannabis worth around £30,000 following a search of a property in Macduff.

Officers seized the drugs during an intelligence led investigation at an address on Newtown Drive in the town on Tuesday.

A man, 25, and a 20-year-old woman have been arrested and charged.

They appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court earlier today.

Detective constable Dean Lynch of North East CID said: " “We remain committed to tackling the production and sale of drugs in our local communities and I would like to thank the public for their continued assistance in providing us with information that helps us carry out enforcement activity.

"If you have any information or concerns about drug misuse in your area, please report this to Police Scotland in confidence via 101, or to Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111."
