Aberdeenshire children will benefit from AberNecessities’ Christmas appeal
An appeal has been launched to ensure no child goes without essentials this festive season.
With Christmas fast approaching, AberNecessities has launched its annual Believing in Magic campaign to help children in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen.
The charity aims to assist the more than 5000 local youngsters living in poverty.
The Believing in Magic campaign seeks to provide these children with Christmas Eve boxes, gifts, cosy pyjamas, and other much-needed items, allowing them to feel the wonder of the season.
Last year, with the incredible generosity of donors, AberNecessities reached more than 5000 children, delivering hope and joy to families across the north-east.
This year, demand is at an all-time high, and the charity is once again calling on the community and local businesses to make a difference in the lives of children.
AberNecessities founder Danielle Flecher-Horn said: “Christmas should be a time of joy and celebration, yet for too many children, it’s filled with hardship.
“Our campaign seeks to change that. With the support of our community, we can bring the wonder and warmth of the season to every child, no matter their circumstances.
“It’s the kindness and generosity of our community that truly makes this campaign possible.”
AberNecessities offers multiple ways for individuals and businesses to contribute to the campaign:
• Sponsorship opportunities: Businesses can sponsor the campaign through packages, directly impacting children’s lives during the festive season.
• Giving trees: Companies can host Giving Trees with AberNecessities baubles, allowing customers and employees to donate essential gifts.
• Financial contributions: Individuals and organisations can make direct donations via AberNecessities’ fundraising page here.
Each donation goes a long way in spreading holiday cheer:
• £5 provides a selection box and festive treats to sweeten the season.
• £10 includes a festive mug, hot chocolate, and a storybook — perfect for a cosy Christmas Eve.
• £15 supplies pyjamas and fluffy socks, ensuring a child stays warm and comfortable.
• £40 creates an entire Christmas Eve Box filled with toys, treats, and surprises.
• £50 provides a special gift for a child to unwrap and treasure on Christmas Day.
