THE sweet harmony of classical guitar and flute filled St Andrews Church, High Street, Inverurie on Sunday afternoon.

The International Poet, the JKL Duo, Jacopo Lazzaretti and flautist Kerry Lynch, delighted their audience with their interpretation of new music commissioned especially for them inspired by the works of Rabbie Burns.

Jacopo from Rome and Kerry from Glasgow met while studying at the junior conservatoir in Glagow.

Both were intrigued by the idea of combining their music with the songs and poetry of Burns.

Their research led them to discover many aspects of the poet which gave them a good understanding of Burns and his work which has helped to colour their performances.

It was a happy return to Inverurie for the couple as just before the Covid lock-down they gave a concert at the Acorn centre.
