A favour for a friend landed a disqualified driver in a police cell this weekend.

Ryan Stewart, of Seafield Circle, Buckie had already been disqualified from driving twice in less than a year.

Nevertheless the 27-year-old agreed to borrow a van to help a pal move house.

However, Stewart was spotted and arrested by police.

He appeared from custody at Inverness Sheriff Court today and admitted driving while disqualified on Sunday.

Deferring sentence until October 29 at Elgin Sheriff Court for a background report, Sheriff Margaret Neilson told defence solicitor Grant Daglish: "He has no regard for court orders."
