Banff Bridge set to close for inspection and repairs





Banff Bridge is to close for a day to carry out an inspection and gully repairs.

It will shut on Sunday, June 1 from 6am to 5pm.

Should these works not be able to proceed as planned, a back-up date of Sunday, June 8 is in place.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: “Access will be provided for emergency services throughout the closure.

“The recommended detour is via the A947 to Turriff, Turriff via Banff Road, Fife Street, The Square, Market Street, Church Street, Gladstone Terrace, Deveron Street and Deveron Road to B9025, B9025 to A97 at Aberchirder, A97 to Banff, and Banff via Sandyhill Road to the A98.

“We appreciate that working on roads can cause some inconvenience to users, but we would ask that you bear with us as we carry out these essential improvements.”
