Banff's Plainstones Christmas Cracker will bring festive spirit





Banff's Plainstones Christmas Cracker event will return to brighten up the community and welcome the festive period.

It will be held at Low Street on Sunday, December 3 from 12pm-4.30pm.

There will be a special visit from Santa who will be appearing on his sleigh and then children will have the opportunity to visit him in his grotto and receive a gift throughout the afternoon.

There will be various stalls, helter skelter slide, coconut shy, hook a reindeer, face painter, doughnut van, candy floss, hot food, refreshments and plenty to keep youngsters entertained.

A raffle will be held which people can try their luck in winning a range of prizes.

Portsoy Pipe Band and a local choir group will be performing on the day.

A countdown will then be held and the Christmas lights on the tree at the Plainstones and in the Low Street and Strait Path areas will be switched on at 4.15pm.

Banff Plainstones Christmas Cracker chairman Kenny Grant said: "There will be something for all the family and it will be a good day out to enjoy to welcome the festive season.

"Santa will be arriving on his sleigh and we will also have guaranteed snow to get everyone in the Christmas spirit."

Mr Grant said he had donated a Christmas tree to Banff Academy as well.
