Banffshire And Buchan Coast MSP Stewart Stevenson will next Tuesday (January 19) welcome Father Piotr Rytel from his constituency to deliver Time for Reflection to the Scottish Parliament.

Father Piotr is the parish priest at Banff’s Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on Sandyhill Road.

Having moved to Scotland from Poland in 2013, Father Piotr spent six years in Inverness as Polish Chaplain at St Mary’s church and subsequently came to Banff in October 2019.

Commenting, Mr Stevenson said: “I am delighted that Father Piotr accepted my nomination to deliver Time for Reflection to the Scottish Parliament and even more so that he has been selected to speak before I step down from Parliament in May.

“Over the years, I have been pleased to nominate many local ministers, pastors, priests and others to deliver Time for Reflection and their contributions have always been both thoughtful and thought-provoking.

"I am sure that given the importance of the Polish and wider Eastern European community in the north-east that Father Piotr’s contribution will be keenly anticipated.”
