Members of Turriff Guides met, socially distanced, in the Haughs on Saturday for a celebration event.

The group has been meeting virtually since April, and during this time the girls have worked hard to complete a number of badges, all of which were presented on Saturday.

These badges included programme awards, challenge badges for an escape room night and bake off and interest badges like campaigning, backwoods cooking, photography and vlogging.

In addition to these badges 16 Guides were presented with their Guides Bronze Award.

The Bronze Award is earned by completing the required number of unit activities, group skill building activities and interest badges in two of the six themes that make up Girlguiding’s programme.

The girls can go on to earn a silver award for completing four themes and a gold award for completing all six.

The unit’s leadership team are proud of all of their hard work to complete these badges and awards.

While they were gathered together on Saturday six new members made their Guide promise alongside two older members who have transitioned to the role of Young Leader during the group’s virtual meetings.

The group are now winding down to the end of term with some festive activities and will finish with a virtual Christmas sleepover in mid-December.
