Arrest after thefts in Ellon, Balmedie and Aberdeen

Following enquiries conducted by Aberdeen CID and Formartine Local Policing Team, a 19 year old male was arrested in the Balmedie area of Aberdeenshire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The male has since been charged in connection with a number of incidents which occurred across the Aberdeen City, Ellon and Balmedie areas between Januart 7 and 20 and is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday, January 21.

Detective Sergeant Scott McKay, Aberdeen CID, said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for the assistance with our enquiry and wish to take the opportunity to remind everyone of the importance of ensuring that you lock and secure your homes and vehicles during the hours of darkness to deter those involved in theft type crimes.”
