Turriff-based Woodhead Brothers have been recognising the achievements of a number of their apprentices.

In partnership with Polaris Learning the company recently presented 12 apprentices with their Level Two qualifications in meat and poultry manufacturing, with seven apprentices focussing on lamb and five focussing on beef.

To celebrate all of their hard work the apprentices were invited to a short restriction-adherent ceremony and were congratulated by company management.

Woodhead Brothers, a subsidiary of Morrisons supermarket, are now entering their third year of modern apprenticeships which offers opportunities to local people of all ages and backgrounds.

The apprenticeship awards are available to members of the Woodhead Brothers workforce who have an interest in advancing their career in food manufacturing, and for many being a member of the team is only the start of their journey.

Morrisons also offer a graduate scheme and trainee management programme.

Furthermore they enjoy engaging with schools and community groups to raise awareness of what they do and ways in which they can support the local community.
