Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road crash on the A97 on Monday.

Around 9.30pm, police received a report of a one vehicle road crash on the A97, near Westertown Farm, between Huntly and Aberchirder.

The vehicle, a white Volkswagen Amarok truck was travelling south before it crashed.

Emergency services attended and the 22-year-old male driver and 22-year old male passenger were taken to hospital.

The road was closed as collision investigators conducted enquiries at the scene.

Sergeant Steve Manson said: “We are continuing our enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

"We are particularly interested in any motorists with dash cams, perhaps you captured the image of the truck before the crash, if you have any information, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3806 of July 12, 2021.
