Police are appealing for information following the theft of two quad bikes from rural properties in the Newmachar area.

A light green Kawasaki KFL300 quad bike with home-made sprayer attached was stolen at approximately 11.15pm on Wednesdaym September 15.

A large dark green Kodiak quad bike was stolen from a second property at around 3.30am on Thursday 16.

Crime reduction officer PC Mike Urquhart said ‘I would urge those in our rural communities to always park quad bikes as close to your premises as possible, preferably out of sight from nearby roads and remember to always remove keys when not in use.

"Consider fitting wheel clamps and/or locking posts as well as an alarm.

"Mark or customise your property so it is easily identifiable.

"This can deter thieves and assist recovery if they are stolen.

"Consider tracking devices for high value vehicles and machinery and keep a record of all vehicles with photographs and serial numbers.’

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 quoting reference PS-20210916-0545 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
