Police Scotland are appealing for information after damage was done to picnic benches within the children's play area at Aden Country Park.

A spokesperson for the Park said: "We were disappointed to have discovered that one of our picnic benches in the new children's play area was completely destroyed and another badly damaged.

"This is just one example of the ongoing vandalism in Aden Country Park.

"If anyone saw the incident, or sees any suspicious activity in the park in the future, please report it to the police. "

PS Niall Mullen from Peterhead Community Policing Team said;"This was a deliberate act, directly impacting others being able to enjoy the outdoor facilities at the park.

"Not only does fire destroy these benches, they could have also caused injury to those who set or or caused it to spread in the park.

"It is vital to be fire aware. I encourage anyone who has any information in relation to this incident to contact Police."

Police can be contacted on 101 or via the Police Scotland website.
