Leading member-owned co-operative, ANM Group, has announced that further investment plans to expand its operations in the central belt and southern Scotland are underway.

The member-owned group has confirmed that Robin Anderson is to join them in the newly created role as head of strategic development, supporting their existing customers in these areas and extending the Group’s co-operative services to a wider customer base.

ANM Group chief executive Grant Rogerson said : “This move has been long-considered a strategic next step in the growth and geographic reach of ANM’s auction division.

"As a leading co-operative enterprise, we work collaboratively with our members and customers, providing them with the best service levels and utilising our industry-leading sales platforms to ensure we maximise their returns.”

The co-operative has delivered strong performance levels over recent years and reported significant expansion in membership, with increases in throughput and turnover.

At the same time the Group has proactively increased its investment in its auction operations, with a specific focus on technology, new selling platforms and their customer facing team.

That investment has ensured the Group delivers best value and service, continues to improve its efficiencies, increases its range of benefits to members and customers and supports this significant new expansion.

Mr Anderson’s appointment, whilst supporting the existing team in the area, will focus on growing the auction division’s customer base.

Celebrating its 150th year of operations, the Group is also looking to develop future partnerships in the central and south areas, whilst, in the short term, its immediate focus will be on using existing platforms to provide an additional efficient route to market for customers.

That process is well proven, including most recently a sale of machinery and equipment held in Jedburgh, facilitated using the Group’s live online sales platform, providing access to buyers from all over the country. The company expects personnel numbers to increase in support of their growth plans.

Mr. Anderson has a proven track record in the south of Scotland, having for many years been managing director at Wallets Marts in Castle Douglas, and most recently for Lanark-based Lawrie & Symington, who recently confirmed his departure in a company statement.

He was previously head of operations in the Auction Division for ANM.

On the appointment of Robin Anderson as Head of Strategic Development, Mr. Rogerson added: “Robin is a well-known face throughout the south of Scotland and the Central belt.

"His reputation and vast industry experience will be invaluable in seeking out opportunities and delivering ANM’s services as part of the Group’s ambitious growth plans.

“We are delighted to be welcoming Robin back to the team at an exciting time for our co-operative.
