The announcements are significant moves and come on the back of recently announced growth in throughput over the course of 2020.

Significantly, the appointments represent further investment in career development at ANM.

The Group is emphasising its determination to offer opportunities for “up and coming” local talent in customer-facing roles - roles which are seen as the key to further build on close links with its growing customer base.

The new appointments announced are-

Fraser Chapman, one of Thainstone’s trainee auctioneers who joined the Group in 2019, is taking on additional responsibilities for selling and will canvass all classes of livestock in the Donside and Deeside areas.

Katrina Macarthur, has worked with ANM since 2018, and will take on responsibilities for canvassing in the Buchan area.

Lynne Macarthur, following David Hay’s recent appointment to the Operations Manager role in the livestock auction division, Lynne will take on the role of main office and livestock finance manager.

Head of livestock at Aberdeen and Northern Marts John Angus said: “I'm delighted for Fraser, Katrina and Lynne, who are all well-known in the local area, and who will, we are certain, make a brilliant contribution in their new roles.

"Their appointment further strengthens the team whose focus remains to provide the best service to members and customers, and further cement our relationships at the farm gate and in the auction ring.”

Grant Rogerson, ANM Group chief executive added: “This is a key part of our ongoing strategy to invest in the business, provide market-leading services to customers and members, and also opportunities for our staff to develop fulfilling long term careers.

"These promotions for Fraser, Katrina and Lynne are a recognition of their abilities and understanding of our industry and demonstrate the quality of talent we have available to us across the team at Thainstone.

Last month, the Thainstone-based Group unveiled a headline increase of 4.76 per cent in the number of sheep and cattle auctioned by them, with total throughput value up by almost 10 per cent.

Mr Rogerson continued “We will continue with our plan to focus on the procurement of stock through personal contact as well as digitally, ensuring a sector-leading flow to meet demand from buyers, and by doing so, grow our market share, and ensure more customers can experience the benefits of dealing with a co-operative society.”
