ALL residents at Glenisla Care Home in Keith have tested negative for coronavirus.
A second round of testing took place at the home on Wednesday and Thursday and confirmed no residents have the virus.
Previous testing had shown two residents had the virus but both of those residents have been retested with results coming back negative.
Staff test results are still to come.
Ron Taylor, managing director of Parklands Care Homes which runs Glenisla, said: “I can confirm that, following a second round of tests for covid-19, all residents at Glenisla have tested negative.
“This is good news for residents and their loved ones and I want to thank them for their understanding during what has been a worrying time for all.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the hard working team at Glenisla. They have endured the past two months with considerable grace, professionalism and good humour, working long hours – often at the expense of their own family commitments – to care for our residents.
"I am immensely proud of them and I know the local community is too.
“The virus remains a persistent threat, however, so we will continue to implement our robust infection prevention and control procedures in line with national clinical and care guidelines.”
An update on staff test results will follow as soon as information is available.
